Symptoms of broken car cross joint
Time:2024.06.20
Abnormal noise: During driving, if you hear a sound similar to a metal collision, especially during acceleration or sharp turns, this may be one of the symptoms of damage to the universal joint cross shaft. In addition, if the car chassis continues to make a buzzing sound, and the faster the speed, the louder the sound, it is also a manifestation of damage to the universal joint cross shaft.
Oblique imprinting: When the total clearance of the bearing circumference in the universal joint cross shaft assembly is large, the rolling needle may be skewed, causing a certain angle of imprinting between the journal and the axis of the cross shaft.
Fatigue peeling: The radial clearance between the cross shaft and the bearing gradually expands due to wear, resulting in concentrated loads and fatigue indentations in areas with high loads, ultimately leading to large-scale fatigue peeling.
Lack of oil erosion: Improper or insufficient use of lubricating oil can cause the temperature of the universal joint cross shaft assembly to be too high during use, causing the bearing and journal to bite, damaging the needle roller and sealing components, and ultimately causing erosion on the surface of the ring.
Difficulty, shaking, or deviation of the steering wheel: If the car experiences difficulty, shaking, or deviation of the steering wheel during driving, it may indicate that the steering system of the car has malfunctioned, possibly due to damage to the cross shaft.
Steering gear oil leakage: After the cross shaft of the car steering gear is damaged, lubricating oil may leak out from the damaged area, causing the steering gear to leak oil.
Abnormal noise: When turning the steering wheel, a clicking sound can be heard, which may indicate that the cross shaft is broken.
These symptoms indicate that the universal joint may have been damaged or malfunctioning. It is recommended to inspect and repair it in a timely manner to avoid further damage and safety hazards.
